Jolly Phonics SATPIN
This week our Primary 1 children were introduced to the Jolly Phonic Set 1 sounds - S A T P I N.
When introducing a new sound we listen to a story and learn a new song e.g. A A Ants on my arm. We also practise our letter formation using a fun rhyme such as "slither down the snake"('S' sound). Perhaps you could ask your child to recite some of these at home so you can practise together. How many items can your child find at home at beginning with our new sounds? Remember to exaggerate the initial sounds at first e.g. ssssun, aaapple, pppotato
Primary 2 children are working hard to blend familiar words using the sounds above. We are also revising some of the tricky words which we may encounter in our reading. This week we focused on I, we and the.
I have included our Jolly phonics sounds chart below and a link to listen online to the sounds - I hope you find it helpful.
