As part of our topic 'Shopping and Christmas' we are exploring money through our class toy shop. We explore the need to pay for goods and understand the use of money and associated language through various shop scenarios. The P1 children are working on recognising coins up to 10p and the P2 children are handling coins up to £2. All children have been exploring equivalences (e.g. there are 10 pennies in 10p). In time, we will also be able to accurately give change from 10p.
